  • November 14th-18th: Pollinator Plan goes on tour for Science Week! Thanks to Origin Green for sponsoring this run of pollination workshops as part of SFI’s 2016 Science Week

  • October 4th: The Pollinator Plan will be attending the Irish Forum for Natural Capital’s annual conference in the Royal Concert Hall, Dublin city

  • October 22nd: A free pollinator workshop is being given by Giorria Environmental Services for Tidy Towns groups and other local community groups (funded by Roscommon County Council and the Heritage Council as part of the Roscommon Heritage Plan 2012-2016). It will cover Irish pollinators and the Pollinator Plan, as well as actions you can take to get involved.   • October 26th: Úna FitzPatrick is speaking about pollinators at the National Folk Theatre, Tralee, County Kerry

  • June 2nd: Úna FitzPatrick is speaking about the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan to the Wexford Naturalists’ Field Club
  • June 11-12th: The National Biodiversity Data Centre is holding the first ever Island BioBlitz! Five of Ireland’s special off-shore islands are competing in a race against time to see which island can record the most species over a 24 hour period. We’ll have hundreds of volunteers surveying pollinators and other biodiversity across the islands. Visit the BioBlitz website for more information and to see how you can get involved.

  • June 18th: One day event called ‘Keep Mayo Buzzing’ run by Karina Dingerkus, (Ecologist) and Celia Graebner (Gardener). This day is an introduction to native pollinators and the all-Ireland pollinator conservation plan. It aims to introduce the local seasonal bumblebees, solitary bees, butterflies and hoverflies that help to pollinate our food crops, their lifestyles, favourite plants and habitat needs. Find out about some simple steps you can take to help the ongoing national project to conserve and build our pollinator populations.The day includes two short walks to practise identifying pollinators (weather permitting) and their forage plants. 10:30 AM to 4.00 PM at Frogswell, Straide, Foxford. €35, including tea and coffee, information pack.
